Ex boyfriend downloaded a bad thing.. :*(

My (ex) boyfriend thought he was doing a nice thing for me when he said he was going to download something that would make it so i could play the game without the disc. To my knowledge, he never got it to work, and I always play with the disc anyway. But ever since the day he said he tried to do it, my build mode will work alright, but I can't center any doors or windows. Like, I can build 4 walls, but it won't center the door on the tile, and so i can't place any. Playing without the disc isn't even something i wanted, so I would have no problem deleting it from my system...if someone could just tell me how. Please help, I didn't mean to download anything illegal. I've gone to the store and purchased everything that I've got, so I wasn't trying to do anything wrong. I just want to get rid of it and go back to building houses. please help

If it were me I would uninstall the whole game and Clean it out of your registry. If you have Daemon tools. Uninstall that as well.
The main problem is The no CD tool that he used has ruined the installation.
If you are still talking to him, get him to do the hard work. Problem with hack software is its unreliable as well with certain games its illegal.
Maybe someone else can help a bit more on this.

Thanks for the suggestion...it's a good idea, but I don't have all of the cases anymore for all of my expansion packs. Will I need the serial number again? I left all the discs back home when I moved away for school. I had up to the most recent, at the time, so I just brought that disc. Do you have any other suggestions? I'm thinking there must be a way that i can just delete the stuff he downloaded...i'm just not sure how..

Yes you will need the seial Numbers. And having no idea what he put in I have no idea of what to take out.
You might want to ask him. Usually add remove programs.?

Don't know how much I should say but oh well.

Usually a No-CD patch modifies the exe file and if that's what he installed it can be fixed!

Put the CD of your latest EP into the drive. Go into My Computer > D:\ Drive > TSBin > Copy the Sims2~.exe into: C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 ~\TSBin. Overwrite the exe file there and try running the game with the disk.

~ means the latest EP installed.

Ok, so I tried doing the whole, overwriting the exe. thing, but that didn't work. So I just uninstalled everything sim related from my computer. Then I re-installed the games, and now it's still not working. The auto start thing comes up when I put the disc in, and the disc drive makes the noise like it's reading it, but then it just stops, and nothing opens up..
    any suggestions?

You need to make sure that the NoCD is off of your computer. The game sees it as possible "software piracy" and will stop it.

If you've already removed that stuff (which is what the ex put on your machine), then go to My Documents/The Sims 2 and look for things like accessory.cache, groups.cache and the like. They're usually right after the folders. Delete them and you might have better luck. This resets things a bit, but it doesn't seem to cause any harm (other than possibly making your load times for some things a little longer.) The game regenerates the ones it needs.

Can I suggest banning your boyfriend from touching your computer from now until hell freezes over, as well? ;) :p Hehehehehe!
