First Time Launch Problems Hello everyone, I recently installed the Sims 3 but I am having launch problems. The screen flashes black and then I'm back to my desktop; the launcher is gone. I've never run the game before and just installed an upgraded AGP video card tonight. Prior to installing the video card the game simply told me it would not run so I feel like I'm making progress but I'm not there yet. I attached my DXDiag. Thanks ahead of time for your kind help.
Found help in another thread Thanks to another thread I am up and running. This was the thread that helped me: http://uoem.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21092 Specifially for me: I downloaded and installed a 190 version of the NVIDIA driver for my 6200 card and now I can bring up the game. www.nvidia.com Download Drivers pick "Beta and Archived Drivers" link then pick your card and hit search download the driver for example, I downloaded GeForce/ION Release 190 WHQL 190.62 August 21, 2009 Then I uninstalled the old driver, rebooted, and installed the new driver.
