Game Freezes During Gameplay!! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, so I got the Sims2, like, I dont remember. LOl. this year, ir farther into 2004. Doesnt matter. Anyway, it was running smootly a couple times then every time I play it it will either take long, and freeze during anything, or take short, and freeze during everything. Don't know much bout comps so, I'm hoping someone can help me IMMETIDALY PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM GOING TO PULL MY HAIR OUT!!!
