    Game won't start!

Alright, I downloaded the game on my Windows XP and after it was finished, I tried to open it and play. What would happen is that the white box saying 'Sims 2' would just appear on my screen and nothing would load or happen. This is first version, with no expansions.

swmeek I got your benevolent dictator pal!!

Did you mean you downloaded a legal or pirated copy or do you mean installed the game on your pc?
If it's a pirated version we can't help you!
If you would post up your dxdiag results it would help us if it's a legal version.
Click the start button and right above it you will see the "run" option.
Click that and type dxdiag in the box.
Click ok and let it run for a bit.
you'll see the green bar at the bottom stop when it's done.
Press the save all information button and save it to your desktop.
Now right mouse click and send it to a "compressed zipped folder"
Attach that to your next post.

    Sorry.
I installed the game on my computer.
The discs were given to me by my dad's friend, since his kids didn't use them any more.
I don't have the box, he just gave me the CDs in a different CD case.
