Get Job on Computer Bug: Serious!!

Soooo ... yet another sim couple graduated and moved "back home." Spencer went to get a job on the computer and kept springing up again. Finally got a job, but then when the family sat down to dinner they all kept springing up again, and then ... they stood around like statues. Free will was on. They did nothing. For several minutes. They obeyed my commands but had no volition of their own. Auuuugh.

So I exited without saving, re-entered the lot and deleted their computer (it was a download, but remember this happened with little sis earlier) and got a job through the newspaper.

    All was well.

Had a stressful night last night so did not have a chance to run testing errors and found out I don't have lot debugger after all, but with my cat dying the last thing I needed was my sims dying too so I left it alone.

So now, my point: Is this a known bug, and if so, is there a fix out there somewhere?

Hey there, SB. Sorry to hear the news about your cat. Mirelly (the whiskery one) sends you a big rumble of comfort :)

As for your ongoing puter bugs the only thing you can do is submit an debug error log .... Take a short while to gather yourself. Dr Mirelly prescribes something that starts with lots of ice and finishes off with an olive and paper umbrella parasol ... you may choose to have it shaken or stirred on a whim :D

I was going to try the lot debugger first, though last time I installed it I noticed problems with my community lots. Should I not do this?

The weird thing is the houses that have the errors all have sims in them that came from the same dorm. Could that dorm have caused the bug? I thought when a sim left a lot the bugs stayed there.

I wouldn't think the same dorm thing is causing the problem unless you moved the "family" from one neighborhood to another. Maybe they have a mutual friend/acquaintance who is ghosting itself somewhere in the works ... like I said. You're not going to know until you get a few error logs associated with the jumping. If they all refer to the same object (note that everything is an object in TS2 even animations :p) the problem might be easier to cure than we presently fear :(
