Getting Black Screen during in-game cinematic moments. I am getting a black screen anytime a cinematic movie happens in the game (first kiss, marriage, engagement, birth, etc.) This never used to happen before; I had to remodify my computer a couple months back, so I reinstalled the game about 3 months ago or so, and I just ignored it for awhile, but now it's getting really annoying. Is there a way that I can disable the in-game cinematics from happening? I rather not reinstall the game and lose all my sim data. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) System Manufacturer: HP Pavilion 061 System Model: DQ034A-ABA A282N Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz (2CPUs) Memory: 512MB RAM Page file: 407MB used, 842MB available DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Display Device: ATI RAEDON 9600 PRO DAC Type: Internal DAC (400 MHz) Approx. Yep the in-game cinematics can be disabled from the setting menu - the Gears button (or press F5) The option you want is the Special Event Camera in the Camera Options section of the F5 Option menu ... just set it to off. I've had mine off since Noah was caulking up his ark ... there's only so many first kisses one can stand before the whole thing becomes a barf-fest (I'm as sentimental as the next silly moo but everything in moderation except for wine on Saturday night )
Wish I could come drink with you! I've been wanting a glass of wine lately. Every once in a while my inner lush comes out, I guess ... I haven't gotten sick of the first kiss movie, mostly because it's new to the sim, and I like it when they're happy.
Ah, but nothing beats the moment (that you have to make happen yourself) when heavily pregnant mom drags herself, sleepy-eyed, out of bed, hauls her bulk down the stairs, passing over the luxury of a needful soak in the tub (or even a moment with the crossword on the potty ... also needful but not utterly desperate). Pausing only to crack her spine and sigh heavily, she tugs at the heavy fridge door to gather a few ingredients and then with tender love and attention to detail she assembles a light and fluffy, gaily steaming and oh, so packed with yummy tummy-gurgle making aromas. She carefully places the plate on the counter and turns in time to receive a lovely thanks mom kiss from her freshly showered, bright-eyed, first born. After another pause to self-adminster some soothing effleurage to her taut, but pregnantly ticking, belly, she waves affectionately to her child -- who is demolishing, with relish, the so carefully prepared breakfast so that she can be by the kerb before the school bus arrives honking like an angry goose and waking her father -- the mother returns to her matrimonial bed to snuggle up against the sleepy-warm and man-stinky bulk of her husband who needs another three hours sack time before he can face his own day at the coal face. LOL Talk about waxing lyrically.
