    Hacking Community and You

In an effort to make our hacking community better known, I want to get some feedback from hackers out there to see what they need and how can we at WorldSims help you guys out better.

So if you have some sort of feedback, please let me know :)

Well, as a first thought, it doesn't look like there's anyone else here actively hacking anything. As a second thought, it doesn't look like we have a whole lot of people here. Activity seems on the decline as of late. And last but not least, dammit, I missed post #666.

I'm actually wondering what tools you're using to hack/create customized objects? Is it this simPE tool? And what do you use to create the .package files? I guess a .package is a compiled version of your modified object?
Oh, I noticed that I aimed the above part at objects, but info about other things like the behaviour modifications that JMP did would also be welcome.

SimPE both creates hacks and packages them in .package files. I don't do very much involving objects, however, that's really not within my current field of expertise.

Josh, what I appreciate about this forum site is that all creators and creations are celebrated and discussed openly here, no matter if they contribute to here or elsewhere. I hope it stays like this and does not head towards becoming jealous of or competitive with other sites

I so agree, Inge. One of the things I really like about this forum is that I can always count on finding good things like the DatGen stuff and your contributions, as well as the community finds.

I just wish that TSR would let us have Nanshi Nibble back here on occasion. I really miss seeing her posts.

EEK! katanubis - sorry love!!!! I have been a little remiss (and missed obviously). It's not TSR - it's me and the 101 billion things that fill my day that interupts quality chat time (and creating content too!!!) I did chat with Josh the other day at the datgen chat and catch up (hey Josh!)... Promise to try and get here more often (hmm if only I didn't have to sleep) :D

I have frequently (especially lately) wished that there was some way to avoid having to sleep.

But you have been missed (although my object file and clothing downloads file are full of things you've made. It's *you* who is missed.)

Ah, but there *IS* some way to avoid having to sleep. You just need LOTS and LOTS of caffeine. That's what I use, and I don't sleep as a result. Just imagine the effects of intaking about 100 coffees in one shot.

That only works if you can have caffeine. I'm afraid that caffeine gives me an allergic response that has nearly put me into the hospital a couple of times. (And I have a heart condition that doesn't allow me to have stimulants even as mild as Sudafed.)

When I was in residency I used to stay awake by drinking lots and lots of water (or eating banana popsicles), but I had to stop that after a night when I had an intensive care patient who was so sick it required me to stay at the bedside. It was noted that I had an odd tremor so the Internal Medicine resident decided, just for fun, to draw my blood and see what my blood chemistry looked like. Well, the sodium was dropped so low that I was in the range that can produce seizures.

So, now I'm forced to put up with having to waste time sleeping.

You're lucky that you can get away without that happening to you.

You just need to get used to it. Try starting with very small doses and working your way upwards. This is the same technique used to train yourself to be immune to specific poisons.
