Harry Potter Games Hi all !!! Well I know some will laugh at me because these are non-adult games, hehehe, but what can I do ? I love this saga, movies, books... I just bought all the games from the saga today, but the quiditch cup one, which they didn't have at the store. So I have been working on the sorcere's stone CD in the last 1 or 2 hours (before this thread), trying to, guess anyone ? to make the game install in english and not in portuguese-Brazil. So, after this period of time, I finally got the game running in english . Maybe I'll graduate to hacker soon, huh ? heheheh Seriously, this language alteration was not a picknick. Now that I know how to do it, it is, but it is not as easy to find out as the same thing for The Sims 2. Regkeys alterations for HP do not do anything, I had to rearrange some files in the CD. So, the experiment is sucessfull and I don't exactly need anything to play the game in english now, but I would like to know if you guys can help me out with a tiny little thing. I tried to browse two CAB files in the "sorcere's stone" CD, but winzip says : "Winzip cannot open "C:\blahblahblah\data1.cab" because it is not in the standard microsoft cab format (as defined in mid-1998). The "signature bytes" required by the Microsoft CAB specification are missing." I also have WinACE, WinRAR and MagicISO, neither opens this file. Does anyone here knows the best software there is for ANY CAB files format ? The thing is, since I rearranged the files in the CD (copy of the CD in the hard drive, of course), there's no problem with the game, I just want to take out the installation warnings that keep telling me that "the file size you're installing (rearranged file) is different than the one present in the CAB file". Please help if you can . Now I'm off to try to do the same language alteration from PT-BR to EN with the "prisoner of azkaban" and "the goblet of fire" . The chamber of secrets brazilian CD, thank the Lord, it already comes with English as an option to install hehehe . Some people in here sometimes argue with me saying that I'm not patriotic. Well, what can I do when the voiceovers from the local actors lack of quality ? The UK accent is much more entertaining and beautifull, plus it's the original voices from the movies, and it also gives that "aristocracy" feeling to the game . I like that hehehe. See ya !!! Nevermind about the CAB editor, I fixed the CD copy already . Sometimes I surprise myself, hehe . I was replacing the pt-br files with the en-us ones, so that's why I got the "warning - wrong file size" messages, but know I managed to get the CD with 3 languages to install (originally, the brazilian CD comes with 2 languages only ready to install, spanish is the other), pt-br folders now untouched, and a newly created en-us ready to install and play . Problem solved then, but I still have HP3's and HP4's CDs to configure to en-us as well. So, does anyone in here like Harry Potter too ? Cheers !!!
I like Harry Potter too but i think that the last two books weren't so good as the firsts ones the first time i read Harry Potter i couldn't stop read and think about the stories, i was completely crazy about it but then i found Lord of the Rings and i fell in love LOL Oh i'm just like you i like too have my programs and games in English, i use to have my windows in english and my cellphone is in english too i just don't have the sims 2 in english because my little cousins like to play in my computer and they wouldn't understand nothing :(
Don't get me wrong or anything, I do find it fun that you posted this here - but what has this got to do with TS2? Wouldn't this fit better in a harry potter forum? Personally I like the Harry Potter books a lot more than the games and the videos (hey, I'm a bookworm :classic: )

Didn't mean anything bad by saying what I said and I didn't realise that it was in the Offtopic - me being blind as a bat. And there is nothing wrong with talking about HP here! I didn't mean that. I just thought that it was a bit funny that someone would talk about Harry Potter here. :classic: Gives us something new to talk about.
