    Help - Asap!

Okay, I'm having problems with the Sims 2 Nightlife expansion pack I bought about a week ago. When I first got it and started playing it, it was fine. I tested out the new cars you could get, I went downtown for a while, etc. Then I decided it was time to start building some houses. So, I built foundations, walls, doors, etc... Then I began placing furniture. After I placed a couple of items, the game froze, and everything went black. A few seconds later a message popped up that said something like "no connection" or "connection unavailable", and if I would press escape or ctrl, alt, delete, my computer would restart. I thought it just messed up so I went back on and started putting furniture down. It did the same thing again. and again. and again. and again. Since, I have tried pretty much everything. Uninstalled the sims 2 and nightlife, and reinstalled both. Didn't work. Downloaded the sims 2 nightlife patch from thesims2.ea.com. Didn't work. Tried turning off some applications from the task manager. Didn't work. I would take the game back and get open for business or university instead, but I think I threw away the receipt. I am really frustrated and I would really like for someone to reply to either tell me what to do, or send me to a different website.
    Thanks.

I'm not a technical minded person, but if you post your system specs, someone will be around to help you sooner rather than later. If you don't know how to get them, see Mirelly's post here.
