    Help, please?

I've only just installed "Sims 2" on my computer, as my graphics are finally decent enough, and my image editing program is also new. I was working with "Body Shop" last night, editing colourings for a few different outfits, and it was working great. As of today, I can't get the colouring to appear. It shows up in my editing program, but not it body shop. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong?

I did delete the program folders when I finished with the clothes last night, does that have anything to do with it? Also, I made the attempt to make a new version of an outfit I edited last night, and used textures I found on the internet this time. Then again, I tried editing a entirely different outfit, and the most colour I could get out of it was a dull grey.

Last night I was working with the Alpha Channel File layered over the Texture File, and it worked. My image editing program is the 2006 edition of Microsoft Imaging Suite. Help would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Katherine

Once you load an outfit to the game you can't change it anymore. You need to make a new copy of it from the catalog of available outfits. It should appear there.

Deleting your files in the Project folders should have little to no effect, once they've been imported to the game.

If you mean the outfits you made don't show up in the catalog of available outfits, then you do seem to have a problem.

As for the gray, I suspect that's an issue with your graphics program rather than with BodyShop. I have PhotoShop and I know it has a black and white setting that sometimes shows instead of color. It could be that your program is similar. Try looking in "preferences" or "settings" or similar and see if you can choose "color" instead of "black and white."

    Hope this helped.

You do have to specifically use Body Shop to import into the game and recolored projects. If you delete the project folders (in My Doc~\EA Games\The Sims 2\Projects\ before importing the project into the game then you will need to start over.

I've checked my image program, and it was set for colours.

The outfits I created last night do show up in the catalogue, in both the Create-A-Sim and Body Shop. Could I not take the original outfit from which I edited and edit it again? As I said, the Body Shop catalogue shows that I have the option to edit the custom clothes I've made. I've tried exporting both the original and the custom for further work to compile something new.

So, on the nature of copying, how exactly do I go about that, and what/where do I copy the files from? Then I should be allowed to edit clothes as I please? If not, can I scrap the clothes I made last night, even though I've already imported them? What really confuses me is that how in Body Shop I can't make colour changes to clothing I haven't ever fiddled with. Does that seem like another problem with my editor rather than the Body Shop itself?

If I can't work in my editor, is there anywhere online you can direct me to that I can customize items for the game?

Thanks so much for the help.

(To the above comment I just saw.)
I did import before I deleted. But how do I go about starting over? (I feel like such a novice.)
