Troubleshooting How do i build houses?

How do i build houses?

Hiya,

i got a little problem

when i'm in the town-screen (where you see all the houses and stuff) and i buy ground to build a house on, and i go to that property, i just can't build walls, place carpet, make the ground flat etc
all the building functions don't seem to work

the 'buy-functions' however, they do work

do i do something wrong?
or do i need a patch or fix?

You have the game on a disc that you bought? The game runs when the disc is in the optical drive (CD)? The problem you describe is usually associated with pirated games which we do not support.

I wish that if someone gets an illegal copy of the game, ie steals it, then they would not be able to use CAS and the try for baby and adoption would be deactivated. That way they could only play with the sims that Maxi's created. Also both buy and build mode should be greyed out.
