If you have songs available in MP3 or WMA format, you can easily add them to your game, here's how: Open the My Documents folder. Open the EA Games folder. Open The Sims 2 folder. Open the Music folder. Each folder is named for when/where the music is played. Just drag and drop, or copy and paste, your music files to the appropriate folder. Now your music will be included in the playlist of songs for the game.
@$#@$# Napster Music Just a little FYI for you. If you have used Napster since they made their deal with devil, er, I mean, the music companies, the mp3's you download from them will not play on TS2. I don't know why. They show up as a WMP format in my Kristal/My Documents/My Music folder but when I make a copy of them and paste them into the My Documents/EA Games/Sims 2/Music Folder they will not show up in game. I paid my freakin' 9.99 this month and except for putting them in a playlist and listening to them with WMP, I can't do a thing with them!! And when I cancel my subscription, which I'm about a hair's breath away from doing, then all my mp3's that I downloaded will be unusable. Ahhh, progress.
I was just going to try to put some music from CDs I bought at the store, so that should work, but that's good info for others, Kristal so thanks. Sorry to hear about your Napster woes. Before I got the Sims I didn't download at all. Now I'm a downloading fool ...
thats because they are DRM protected. only way around that is to burn those to a cd (or 2 or 3. depending on how much music you have) and re-rip them. id recommend either winamp or cdex to rip the cd's.
