How Do You Import Somthing Into The Game? After I install somthing from somone else is says please double click on the custom content package file where is that how do i transfer things i download into the game?
You should pay attention to where the files are downloaded to. Whenever you download a file off the web, it will prompt you to enter the desination file folder, or it'll pop up with a folder already, and ask if you want to save it there. Pay attention to that, because that is where your file will go, and that's where you will find it.
I have the same problem. I click on the file after it is downloaded at it says please double click on the custom content package file. I know where it is downloaded, I just can't figure out how to get it into the game.
If it's a clothing, skin, hair etc. file, all you have to do is place the .package file in your ...My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads folder, and it should be in the game automatically without having to double click or install anything. Houses and objects are .Sims2Pack files, and those you have to double click to install.
Try looking in My Downloads or better yet ... Start >> Search >> Click "All File and Folders" Then ... In the top field enter *.Sims2Pack Leave second field (A word or phrase in the file) alone Unless you have fancy computer leave the 3rd field alone as well. Note - if you suspect the files are somewhere in your My Documents folder you can use the drop down menu to select to search only that ... this will speed up the search quite a bit. OK You're ready to go looking for your downloaded lots ... duh ... don't forget to click the Search button

OK ... I'm back ... grrrrr ... got up this morning and found the internet was broken. Worse it broke while Norton was trying to scan half an email so Norton hung up and screwed the whole darn computer forcing me to use the reset button for the first time this year. Right, Flameangel. The lot with the 'room for pet stores etc." doesn't imply that such stuff is available .... yet. But I think we can expect to see a lot more stuff for community lots in future expansion packs and anyway, I quite liked the idea of a new mall where much of the lettable seeling space is unnoccupied. Who knows what we're gonna get in the EP's!!! The swimming pools look really good ... maybe we'll get a scuba shop so our sims can practise using the tanks in their pools? Hmmm scuba bums are slightly more nerdy than surfer dudes Maybe scuba practise would give body and mechanical skills but also affect personality, increasing outgoingness, grouchiness and seriousness.
Tiny Error It is there ... I downloaded it myself. There is a slight problemo with it and I will replace it with a very similar design. The phone is on sloping ground and sims can't get to it to phone for a cab home. Grrr! To correct the problem yourself just go into the lot from the neighborhood screen (in buy/build mode) and turn moveobjects on and then move the telephone to a level piece of ground. I didn't notice this until I downloaded it. Oops! I'd already corrected it in my own version in use in my main 'hood but forgot that the one on the exchange would need correcting
Two things one I am an Official PADI Scuba diver and ive dove in cancun b.c and many other places and im quite the oppisite of a nerd! also you'd gain playfulness with Scubadiving not grouchieness you do back flips see the wild life it's beutiful play with dolphins and otters...... Also after i downloaded your stuff and installed it my game crashed for the first time since i got it and iv'e had it for 3 months!
Oh LOL LOL ... trust me to put ma big foot in it. The only Scuba freak I ever knew was the most tediously nerdy geek in creation. I do hope you haven't taken offence ... I was just being playful. Sweeping generalisations are not something I go in for, as a rule; when I do use them it is usually just in fun. I meant no harm and certainly didn't want to offend. Also, crashed??? Not the phone thing? I've replaced that file now. Gee ... I'm so embarrassed
