How To Barbecue a Maid? ok. i figured id have some fun. im trying to barebecue the maid so to speak well, ive got her lcoked away in a 2x3 room with a lit fireplace, ratty old chairs, 2 teddy bears, and a mess of lace curtains. so far ive had to send one of my sim's in twice to relight the fireplace. so far i havent gotten it to set anything on fire in there. any suggestions?
The fireplace is a poor method of barbecuing. The best way to barbecue somebody is with a grill. Try using the grill instead. Park the thing indoors, surrounded by flammables, up against a wall. Light 'er up. Make sure you're not terribly attached to the sim lightning up. Another way of starting a fire with a somewhat more controllable fuse is with a stove. Make sure Free Will is off. Cook up a TV dinner or toaster pastry. At the moment he shoves the thing in, cancel the action. FIRE IN THE HOLE! Make sure anyone you don't want to ignite flees the area before you wall it off in flammable things.
I can confirm the BBQ indoors theory... I was creating a poor family and thought "they should have a crappy BBQ in the kitchen"... well it caught fire first time, and after i eventually called the fire brigade ( no smoke alarms here! ) and had it put out, they tried again and instantly the kitchen was on fire again... BTW a random thing happened to me yesterday... I had a nanny ( first mistake ), and she was strolling past the oven when she suddenly caught fire! The crazy thing was that it was just her on fire... no chairs, not the oven / stove nothing except the old grandma. She immolated to death and the reaper came to collect her. Bizarre because again there was no fire alarm ( oversight this time rather than choice ) and once she was ashes nothing else was burning. Spontaneous human combustion perhaps..?
Heh, I wasn't proposing it was a theory, I was stating it as a fact. SHC was a known cause of death in TS1, so it would not surprise me if it reappeared in TS2.
well, i had no troubles getting the BBQ to happen, but shortly after the game crashed on me so i lost all that hard work. i probably wont be trying again because after starting the BBQ and killing the maid everyone was in the dumps both mentally and in needs. so needless to say, the death caused a nice huge mess.
It helps if you don't light the fire in the room where the rest of your sims are. Being on fire majorly reduces all their need bars, and being in the room with the fire at all still hurts the hygiene bars. Also, Sims often hate even seeing fires. Clearly they're not properly pyromaniacal.
