    How to Clone a Sim

So, at the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, I confess I still don't know how to do this, and am worried it might corrupt the sim. I have the following questions:

    1. How do you do it?
    2. Does the clone have all of the old sim's skill points, personality, etc.? Or is it just a "sim bin" clone?
    3. How big is a cloned sim (MB wise)?
    4. Can it affect the existing sim?

Thanks, guys. I searched for this and couldn't find it. If a cloned sim isn't too big for dialup I can post one of my cuties as a reward (provided the answers to the questions above don't scare me).

OH MAN I wish I new the answers because I love your Raj character. Give hims some more tattoos and he'd look like Billy Lane, who is such a cutie.

I also want to know this. I want to clone/package one of my sims so I can use again but I don't want to screw her up. She was born in-game and is married with a child, so I don't want to move her out and give the family memories of it.

I used SimPE and its SimSurgery tool to clone Sims from my old neighborhood. It's like packaging them for BodyShop or CAS. No memories attached, thank goodness. I'd post how to do the cloning if anyone is interested. :)

I don't have SimPE because it takes a million years to download on my home computer. Maybe some day when I've got some patience.

But thanks for confirming that it isn't that easy to do. So, the sims we see online were created in CAS or BodyShop and packaged right then, I'm assuming.

I had to download the updated version of SimPE (OFB compatible version) so I'm having to learn the ropes again. :(

    1. Upon opening the program, enter the Neighborhood browser from Tools > Neighborhood. Click on the neighborhood you want to clone Sims from and backup the neighborhood, just in case. Enter neighborhood.
    2. *waits for darn thing to load*
    3. Now go to Tools > Neighborhood > Sim Surgery
    4. Upon entering Sims Surgery Tool, find the Sim you want to clone in the Sim Pool area. Click on that Sim and then press the Use button underneath the square in the Patient Sim thing. The Sim's picture will appear in the square.
    5. Once you do this, click Export, which is right of Patient Sim. You will be prompted to save the Sim under the Saved Sims folder in your EA Games folder of My Documents. Rename the file or keep it as-is (it'll be gibberish  ) and click Save.
    6. Go into Sims Body Shop or CAS and you will find the Sim under your premade Sims/custom Sims section. Edit the Sim to your liking, and you can add the Sim into any neighborhood you wish. :)
