I got a new PC!! Cost me a pretty penny though through all my work the last few months But it's niiicee Core i7 2600K 8GB RAM 80GB Intel 320SSD 2TB Western Digital Caviar Black X-Fi Titanium Wi-Fi
How fast is the WD Caviar Black? (I have a really fast WD Raptor but it really is itty bitty as a C: drive.) Sounds like a nice system!
Definitely not as fast as your Raptor :(. It only spins at 7200RPM instead of the 10,000RPM. But my solid state drive beats the pants of the raptors
Kinda. This machine was built in haste because I lost my trusty Pentium 4 rig. So decided to rush a new system to replace it.
The integrated graphics on the Core i7 isn't bad at all Granted not the best for gaming, but it's certainly not the worse either.
For the immediate short run, I'll be using the Core i7 Graphics. It isn't that bad as its scoring about a 6.4 on the graphics scale inside Windows 7, which isn't bad. It gives me playable games if I need to, but this machine has always primarily been a workstation for me to do operations for WorldSims, Terraspore and Urban Online Entertainment. When I do get some extra funds, I'll add a nicer graphics card like a Fermi
Considering my last machine had: 750GB Primary 250GB Media 300GB Media Compressing it down gives me roughly 1.3TB so it's only an additional 700GB of storage
It's actually my old PC just with the graphics card removed and linux installed. It just acts as a file server and hosts a few games. My excellent 750 which overclocked so well is now undervolted in there. Couldn't get my new 2500k to overclock as well as the 750 did. :( It had to be built as I didn't trust running the drives off the SATA2 ports. In fact, I'm still running the broken chipset motherboard and my RAID1 recently failed...
