I did a search and I found this:

The driver ialmrnt5 for the display device \Device\Video0 got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly. Please check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Application popup: Windows - Display Driver Stopped Responding : The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

    Driver Fix :
You check the website.. You are using the latest updates!!!

You visit a website with the same error (http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=432426&forum=49&sp=0) a guy on the forum states that the old drivers were what NWN has certified to work with..

You roll back to a REALLY old driver.. the game works.. you roll back to the last driver before the newest... it works..

You post a report to Intel and hope this helps others with the same errors.

    Hope this helps.

    Good advice, Dangerous. :)

Also, Jazz, you are really pushing the envelope here with that equipment. My own puter was fairly hi-spec when it was new (YIKES! That was 3 years ago!) It is now beginning to struggle as the game grows and grows. Soon be time a new one. In general terms a 3 year year old PC is prehistoric ... :(

oh well, anyway, dangerousgem i tried your first two links and i got the ol 404 page can not be found on both of 'em. As for the third I used it read the thread and i'm going to try to download a new chipset.
And Mirelly, what is outdated on my computer? does it cost $$ to fix? Can i just download the updates?

edit: i tried downloading a newer chipset but it didnt work, it said something about i don't have the right operating system.

Aw, sorry Jazz. (BTW my FAQ links work OK for me ... :p )

What's old about your PC? Well that integrated Intel Graphics is your main problem for playing a graphical (visual) game like TS2. What you need is a proper graphics card fitted in a proper graphics slot. There's unlikely to be one of those on your PC's motherboard ... (they are called AGP or PCIe slots). So you need a new motherboard and a decent graphics card ... though while you're doing all that you might as well add a couple of gig of extra RAM, one of the new 64 bit cpu's and consider upgrading to Vista ... hmmmm ... sounds like you need a new puter.

Meanwhile see if you can get the game running on the lowest possible video settings and stick to playing small families in small plots. I've been concentrating on going small-small for some time. It keeps my system going but I still have to suck on an ice cube and blow on my chips from time to time

sounds like a new cpu would cost less than all that

I have the ialmrnt5 error issue, too...

I am using a 6-month-old-ish Dell Latitude D620, with the mobile intel 945gm express cipset family. I am trying to use the Pets expansion pack, which works perfectly on my mom's 5-year-old-ish desktop computer.

I can play for a couple minutes, but after that it makes a loud beeping sound, and the game freezes. An error message pulls me back to my desktop screen, which reverts to like 4 colors and says something about the ialmrnt5 driver having a serious error. I don't know what to do about this. I have attempted to update my driver, but windows update tells me that it is already up-to-date, never mind that the version I am running is from the year 2004.

When I restart my computer it says that windows has recovered from a serious error and when I report it, it doesn't give me any information that helps.

My mom told me I might have to buy a new video card, but that may not even be possible because I have a laptop, and everything is packed into those so tightly that replacing a video card may turn out to be extremely expensive, if not actually impossible.

I think it may have something to do with T&L, whatever that is.

Does anyone know if this problem is fixable on my computer, or if I'm just out of luck? If you do have an explanation, please make it as simple as possible since I don't know all that much about computers.

Other than suggesting you play very small families on very small lots with the display option set to minimum and the laptop on a cool windowsill (to keep overheating down) ... no other suggestions come to mind ;)
