If you could only use two expansion packs, which would you pick?

On my laptop, I currently have Sim 2 and Freetime. I was wondering what other expansion pack you could recommend that I install to play alongside them?

What two expansion packs would you play on your PC if you had a choice?

 

Nightlife and Seasons

For me, I have to agree that Nightlife is a very important expansion pack, particularly for matchmaking those troublesome grilled cheese fanatics like the Una family.

 

It would be a toss-up between Nightlife and Seasons/BonVoyage

 

Nightlife and Seasons. Definitely NL. I can survive without Seasons, but not without NL. Vampires, dates, cars, the matchmaker... I shudder to think how my game would be like without those features.

 

I agree on Nightlife, it is a must have. As far as the other, I don't have seasons, but would like it at some point. I do have Bon Voyage, which is great, other than I can't ever seem to get the time for a vacation.

 

If i had to pick two expansion packs, I would definitely go with The Sims 2 Open for Business, and The Sims 2 Pets. First of all, I love opening businesses and tracking the profits. It sounds boring, but the talent badges and all those other great features exclusively from OFB make the game better. Secondly, i love pets! :cheerful: Sometimes I just don't understand why people in real life don't like pets! Think about it; coming home to a house with no dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, or parrots. :guilty:

 

That was a nice post, Mkimm. I like the way that the majority seems to go for NL, Seasons or BV, and you chose two completely different EPs. I like sticker-outers (made that word up just now, people ).

Personally, I think Pets was a little of a let down. I can't say why exactly, but it was a while ago I played it. I just remember getting bored with it quickly. Though there is nothing that spices your game up like adding a pet or two to a household.

 

If you wanted your furniture remodeled, install pets and get a cat to do it for you

hmm if i think real hard i would say freetime and seasons. i don't get why every one loves nightlife i never use it, maybe im just weird
although i love taking my sims out for a party! oh no now im back to picking three :S

 

The only reason I really have Nightlife is for the Match Maker ability. Without her my sims wouldn't be so attracted to each other (and their relatives lol).

I just have Freetime and Nightlife at the moment. My laptop didn't agree with University as well so I just had fun letting the University Pre-made Families set themselves on fire

I would install Seasons if my laptop had a better spec

 

For me that would be Pets and Seasons.
Why: I can live without drivable cars and BV didn't really impress me that much, but I really like the opportunities that came with said Expansions.
And if Mrs Crumplebottom starts to harass people b/c they shower naked I could always throw her into the pool and remove the ladder (or get J.M.P.'s security systemD

I would have to say Seasons and Free Time.
The seasons and ability to garden make the game so much more realistic. Also, if you want, you can change your sims clothes to fit the season.
I really enjoy Free Time. Before I got Free Time I would find myself just letting my sims sit around with nothing to do waiting for the carpool, etc:(. Now, my sims are forever busy! I enjoy keeping them interested in hobbies. It really is a new challenge for me.

 

For me definitely Seasons because I love to garden and fish. Of the others, well I don't have Pets and it doesn't appeal, so probably Nightlife. Unlike I guess most of you, I am a late starter to Sims 2 so I have never really had the experience of playing without all the extras offered by most of the expansion packs.

I can't say that I'm finding the hobbies thing with Free Time very interesting but maybe that is just me. It typically takes me a while to actually start to take advantage of the expansion packs. I am yet to open a business and have only just sent a sim on vacation although I got Bon Voyage for Christmas. However, I appreciate the extras that the expansion packs bring whether it is different furniture or just more interesting sim behaviour.

For me, Seasons is an absolute must-have. It's the EP I had been waiting for, for so long. The weather effects are really good and the gardening aspect is wonderful, love it, love it, love it!!!!

The second EP I would choose is Open For Business. From a gameplay point of view, I love the endless possibilities for businesses.

everynight before going to bed, like a month before Seasons was released, i used to watch the preview video on Youtube.
