I'm learning to MESH! OK I finally downloaded Milkshape 3D (I think that's the name...) and sometime after midnight or so I started learning how to use it! I had NO IDEA .cmx files were so easy, or that they could be written in notepad! I love notepad.... I managed to actually get what I wanted first try when I did the pants/shorts kind of mesh I wanted to make in the first place for my skin idea... but the victorian thing is still a work in progress... I wanted to share. On the left is the "final" version of my first try at the victorian gown... I made a "test" skin to see how things lined up with the gown and mesh... as you can see there were pretty drastic problems!!! On the second I had to start all over again and started to figure out what I was actually doing. I'm hoping to try the second one out and see if it's usable. I had 2 pretty neat stages as I was working and I saved them too!
OK... now I'm trying to figure out HOW to make it so my sims FEET don't stick out THROUGH the gown!!! At this rate, I MAY make a version of this skin with NO feet visible, and just the hemline touching the floor!!!! arrrgh! I posted a request for help in the milkshape forum though, so maybe someone who knows all about meshing will help me... I hope....
I've started working on a head mesh, trying to make one with the hair up in a hair clip like I actually wear mine most of the time.... I may vanish for a day or two while I work on meshing and learning what I'm doing... it's taking me a little while to figure more out... I'm excited to have a couple of meshes that look like they actually work though!
I got distracted trying to make a mesh from SCRATCH... I need more sleep... I need a to do list in the order I was wanting to DO things... I need to find out how to order milkshape registration code... zzzzzsnorrrrkkk... wha??
