I'm trying to get my teen into private school... hey there people. so I invited the headmaster over. clock ticks 5 his car comes into picture and the second he steps out of the car he disappears with the "The headmaster thinks this family is not appropriate with the institute etc" help? any other tips appreciated
It sounds as if you have the basegame (TS2 without any expansion packs or stuff packs) and haven't put in the basegame patch. This glitch used to happen all the time when we first got the game but is pretty rare since the expansion packs came out (although if you use the basegame patch, it should work again.)
patch? i didn't know sims had patches. how do I go about patching my game then? edit: ok I went to this link (http://thesims2.ea.com/update/getpatch.php?appVersion=1.0&variation=cd&languageCode=) and i downloaded the patch when I loaded the patch it said insert disc 4 so I inserted it and then it popped up a "Error during update installation" am I suppose to save the file somewhere?
When you download the patch, save it to your disc drive. (I save all mine in a file called "Patches and Programs." Other people just put it on the desktop and delete it when they're done.) Once it is saved to your disc somewhere, then click on it It could be that your download was interrupted. It is a very large file to download. When the game first came out, I couldn't download it at home because I had only dialup, which was too slow to get it without it being a corrupted copy. I downloaded it at a friend's house, saved it onto a CD and then brought it home to use on my computer. (I have DSL now, and decided to download it to see how long it takes. So far it's only 1/2 downloaded and it's been several minutes.) You should probably uninstall and try it again with a fresh copy of the patch. Keep an eye out for any glitches while you're downloading so that you don't get a corrupted copy.
