Installation of Sims 2 Ok, i got the sims 2 dvd edition from my brothers friend and i was extremly happy to fined out that i could actually play this game, but in reality i couldn't because of some factor i am not able to see. I think that the disk may be scretched beyond repair and im affried that i may have to buy a new one.(in light i see little stcreches, but it isn't so bad i think, but you never know) my question is that when i put the game disk in, nothing comes up, no nosies, flashes, or any pop-ups. now i've tryed it on my other computer and it does the same thing.(but it's the same comuter is that a factor or not i dont know) so im concerned that maybe there is another step i have to take to see if the game actually works or not, or do i have to buy a whole new one . please someone help me or to at least convence me to buy a new sims 2 peace; someone please help me out,
Right click your mouse on your cd drive when disk is inserted. Click explore and see if you can see all the files. If you can double click AutoRun
This might be obvious but a DVD edition game needs a DVD drive ... if your computer only has a CD drive then you need an upgrade. DVD drives cost very little ... but can be a lady dog to install cos you need access to both sides of the tower frame. (Boys wouldn't regard that as a difficulty cos they enjoy stripping stuff down, but I hate jobs that need unneccessary work because the designer is an idiot )
ok i just tryed it on my girlfriends computer and it works fine do you think that it is my computer that is doing this, or the lenses thinggy is dirty or something. or maybe do i have to download something first like directx9.0c or something, because when i put the disk in and i go to "MyComputer" there is nothing in the drive it shows nothing or maybe im not looking in the right places. ok i also notied that my computer playes both cd/ dvd so i think that the drive has nothing to do with actual disk. I dont know why this flippin game doesnt work it has all the reccomened requirements and the stupid game wont work. I put it in and nothing happens i dont know why, but it does and im conveniced that game now does work and show play. Or show i buy the sims 2 for the PS2,b ut it looks soo corny. comment back peace;
