Installation problems Sim City Societies Hi, I purchased a download of sim city societies from EA, downloaded it in EADM, installed it and that is as far as things have gone. The EADM has a play button, when pressed my computer just thinks a bit, nothing else happens. I copied the downloaded sim city files to a temporary folder on my desktop, clicking on sim cities societies application, this brings up a box that connects to the internet and has a play button (this doesn't come up on the desktop short cut or by clicking play on EADM), when I click this, the screen flashes a few times..thinks...then nothing happens..like it wants to start but just can't get there..I'm no computer expert..okay that may be an understatement.. I'd be very grateful if anyone has some tips, my pc is a sony vaio, I have 148 gb free disc space, have run a compatibilty check with the game and am okay, but not really sure where to go to check if I have everything I need to get this game running...Embarassing really lol. If anyone has experienced similar probs and made it through I'd be grateful for some feedback. Thanks
The majority of the time compatibility checks don't mean squat as well as some of those "can you run it" websites that check your computer and tell you if it will work or not. (not trying to sound mean or anything either) What operating system are you running by the way? What we need is a dxdiag report. I would start by going to Sony's website and downloading the most recent video driver for your laptop. Your other specs should be fine but I'm not sure about the video chipset you have. Looking at the specs for the game listed over at www.simprograms.com I think you may have wasted your money. I would suggest you try looking through the wiki pages for anything on the game or try over at www.simtropolis.com as their website is more geared towards the city building simulation type games.
