    installing problem!

When I install The Sims 2, it finishes installation, but when I go to play it crashes on the loading screen with this message: "Microsoft Windows has detected and recovered from a device failure". I meet every requirement, see screenshot below. I have Windows XP, I even downloaded and reinstalled DirectX 9.0c. Anybody help???

Could you get us some details from the Device failure? It's sort of hard to guess which device failed.

That's all the error message said, I dont know how to figure out what it's talking about. Any suggestions?

usually when you generate an error report, you can see the "contents" of it :). Grab that and paste it here :)

    Try this:

When you get that error again, don't close it.

Goto Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > System

Look for a Exclaimation mark with a timestamp similar to when the error appeared :)

Double click that, and copy the description :)
