    I've just recently started playing...
and I'm trying to add skins and objects to my game, I'm not sure how. they're all on my desktop and I'm not sure how to go from there.

To place objects into your game : Windows version

Go into the "My Computer" icon on your desktop.
Select and open the "C" drive.
Now find the folder "Program Files" and click it to open.
Now find your "Maxis" folder and click it to open.
Open the folder called "The Sims"
The first folder at the top of that page should read "Downloads"
You can drag your objects into that folder or Cut and Paste your objects into that folder.

In the folder called "The Sims", you should also see a folder called "GameData"
If you open that folder, you should see your "Skins" folder. You can drag your skins and skin meshes into that folder or cut and paste your skins and skin meshes into that folder.

Normally when you download an object or skin from a website, there is an info page in the Zip file stating which folders the object or skin go into.

    I hope this helped you.

    Sincerely,
    Amy Sims
