Lightning? What does the lightning thing on the other sims faces mean? They are also on some of the things i can do with the sim.
Do you remember when you pick your Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs? Well, that has something to do with it. Lets say, Ricky likes girls with red hair and full face make-up. But he does not like Vampires. Ricky treats himself to dinner for one of his recent promotions at a fancy diner. There he meets his waitress, Julie. Julie happens to have red hair and, is styling full face makeup. So Ricky will have,i think , two lightning bolts for her. Maybe three, i do not know how they get three. So Ricky is attracted to her and can chat it up easier and will gain relationship points faster. now lets say Ricky has been chatting her up, and you now have the flirt option. The option "Suggestion" appears with a lightning bolt by it. That means, that it will have a good chance of succeding I think this statement is true. If i am wrong, please correct me.
Good synapsis Jazz! The only thing I'll add is that if they have mutual turn ons. Such as: Ricky likes red heads with full face make up. Julie likes guys who are fit and wear formal wear. Ricky always works out and wears a suit and Julie has red hair with full face make-up so the potential for sparks (lightening bolts) are even higher. The other things that adds to sparks are their astrological sign and their aspiration. You can have two sims with no turn ons in common but still have high sparks for each other if they are compatible astrologically or aspiration wise; and vice versa; have the right turn ons but wrong astrological sign/aspiration and no sparks.
It is sometimes a mystery why some Sims are attracted to each other. I have set up couples, making sure that they had compatible Turn-ons and turn-offs and aspirations, etc, and ONE spark! In all the years I've been playing, the most I've ever had was TWO sparks...until FINALLY, in my Briarwood neighborhood (see shameless self-promotion below) my sim Chandler Summerfield has three lightning bolts for Cheri. It is my FIRST three spark couple ever! (Too bad she is now his ex-wife!) And when it rains, it pours, because now, Chandler also has three lightning bolts for somebody else as well - and he's not even a Romance Sim!
I've found a good way to get a good compatibility between two sims (if you are creating them both) is to give the wife the turn on of facial hair and husbands hair colour and give husband the turn on of make-up and wife's hair colour. (This works for me because my sim ladies usually wear make-up and the men almost always have some kind of stubble or 'tache). And I think giving them the same turn off might help too- something like costume make-up or vampires because then thats the sort of thing you can control with your sim- like give them cotume make-up if you want them to be less attracted to eachother again. Also all the turn ons I mentioned previously can be changed pretty easy using the mirror, so you can change the chemistry without having to change the aspirations. sorry for rambling rozza xx
Sometimes you're attracted to a person who has no feelings for you at all! So sparks one way, but not the other. So sad. Lately I've been getting a new signal between two roommates. When they are eating a meal together, some of their interactions have a *chair* picture. These mostly seem to be negative ones, like throwing food. Does this mean they can only happen when sitting in chairs? Does this also mean dislike?
yes, this means it is only a chair option. No, its not dislike, under kiss, there is the "blow kiss" option, for happy couples. There is also a "Toast" option, that I really like, IMO.
Yup that is sad. Especially if you created those sims for each other. But it's very realistic though.
