Live 8 Whether it makes the difference (on the G8 summit's deliberations) Geldorf wants or not it was a good free show. There were any number of memorable performances or appearances but I shall stick to 8. Most pleasing was 200,000 people in Hyde Park, Wimbledon Ladies Final and Gay Pride Rally 2005 and no problems. IOC kindly take note: London can handle anything ... even an Olympics. Most surprising. Old Yella Head, Madge, is getting better. Fab voice, great entertainer ... but slightly insane after saying she would sweep Ricky Gervaise's floors if he asked her to. Funniest. Ricky Gervaise's riposte to Madonna ... "who are you?" Most annoying. Discovering that I had missed Annie Lennox. Best youngster. Joss Stone. Least appealing. Maria Carey (who seemed to think the whole crowd was hers alone). Most entertainng. Robbie Williams ... as always. Most pleasing. Hearing (and seeing) Roger Waters back with Pink Floyd playing the bass line for Money as only he can (and the wag in the crowd with a banner reading "Pink Floyd Reunited ... pigs have flown!")
