    Loading Community Lots

Community Lots don't load on one of my neighbourhoods. The neighbourhood my sister plays loads them fine, but I've tried multiple families going to multiple lots and it won't work on mine. This is a great tragedy because the game chooses such ugly clothes for them to grow up into, and they can't buy the clothes I make for them :(.

Oh! Sorry! My sister just called me asking if I was trying to kill the Sim I had accidentally left to starve passed-out on the floor of one of the community lots . So it works - it just must take ages. That might have something to do with me having patched the game around the time community lots stopped loading. Maybe it'll take less time now it's managed to load one. Sorry again .

I stil have a problem. The lots load, after ten minutes, but all the Sims I send to the lots' moods are completely red when the thing finally loads, and the game insits on being either in the fastest speed or paused. What's going on? :(

Oh poo! That sounds very annoying.

Zooty have you tried creating a brand new community lot to see if the problem is systemic (global). Likewise what about the premade 'hoods?

More ... there is always a short time-lag between the time when the lot (any lot) is first rendered and the moment when the taxi arrives. Sometimes, with community lots, I notice that this lag can be noticeably stretched (not to 10 minutes though!) Is this the loading time you're having trouble with? Or is it the blue loading screen that takes 10 minutes?

The ten-minute loading time is pretty awful, but I can cope with it by going off and reading a book or doodling or something (doodling during loading times is an art form in its own right, IMO ;)). It's the competely red mood bars which are really worrying me - whoever I send to a community lot has a good chance of dying from starvation when they get back home.

And it's the blue loading screen which lasts ten minutes.

Ah ... well let us know if you have any success with a brand new community lot.

(Feeling bad cos I wanna help but can't think of anything sensible to suggest. :disappointed: )

Try creating a blank community lot and see if you can access it. If so, build yourself a little corner store type of lot where you can at least get yourself some clothing :)

I tried the new community lot idea last night. It didn't work, but I was really pleased with the lot I'd made so that's okay :). I've decided to resign myself. Hopefully the University EP will include eateires on community lots so there's less chance the Sims I send downtown will die of starvation when they get home. My strategy for keeping my Sims well-dressed yet alive will be to buy every item of clothing in the shop so the family never has to go downtown again, make extensive use of the facilities, go home and use the great and terrible debug cheat to get their aspiration up to scratch (if it's not already) (cheating like that in the face of bugs doesn't count) in order to use the Energiser Aspiration reward object I'll put near the road.
