Long Load Time on a Black Screen Hi there, I started playing Sims 2 a while ago when I came across a problem I hadn't seen before. The game autoloads from the CD (Seasons) without a hitch, but then it idles on a black screen with a mouse arrow for 2-3 minutes before loading the game. It doesn't seem like there's any activity on the computer during that time, and when it finally loads everything works properly. I'm assuming it's either a video card setting or some program that's interfering with the load, but I thought I'd post and see if anyone else had this problem or a quick solution. Specs are AMD XP 2500, 1.5Gb RAM, ATI Radeon HD 2600, DirectX9.0 Thanks in advance.
If it's working fine when it finishes, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. It sounds like you have a longer than normal load screen. Do you also get to see the screen where the boxes are filled in a little at a time or is your black screen instead of that?
