Lost Work Icons Ok, I rarely add custom content & mods, but the other day I noticed that my action icons have changed for going to work/school & walk here etc.. They are all blank (well a blue square). Has anyone had this problem? Gameplay hasn't been effected too much as my Sims can still go to work, school etc... But as I have Sims Uni installed the lifelong acheivement aspiration is not working on Sims which aspire to be the top of a "whicever" career. This happened in a family I started from the Sims Uni student pool "Stella Terrrano" I'm on my third generation Stella's daughter, Artois! Has had a baby Becks! Oh and I accidentally adopted a baby when trying to book a handyman! Any help gratefully received - although I really don't want to reload again as my last back-up was made months ago!!!!!!!!!
So fess up, dear ... rarely doesn't mean never. Do you have any mods? One good way to find out for sure is to just upload the family to the offficial EA exchange and send us the link. It's easy to spot the culprit that way. The problem definitely sounds like an stray hack has crept into your game. LMAO. I need new specs. I first read that as accidentally dropped a baby ... that had me double-taking cos it has more meanings than I care to think about ... Anyway I did the same thing. Get a teen. They make great free baby-sitters. I am being very wicked today ... :devious::confusion:onder:
The only Modified object I have is the telescope to get abducted everytime so I could have a lovely Green town! I keep meaning to remove it as I have so many Logic Sims who want the Big telescope, but I never buy it for them, you have to be cruel to be kind (to their bottoms!!) I have quite a few skins as well all from Sims2.com, but I honestly do steer away from the custom objects - I'm a control freak & a worrier when it comes to my Sims! I'll try & upload the family this weekend - if I can remember how & post back when I do.
But The Sims 2, isnt the best game to not update or upload Custom Objects, Its like not being able to buy anything once you move out of your house at 18, you just got whats on your back. The only risk you take is downloading objects due to it isnt supported by Maxis or EA. But skins and objects from The Sims 2.com or skins from other sites are safe due to the use of Bodyshop.
I had the same problem... Simply copy the "objects" file from your TS2U cd... don't ask me where it is, lmao, i forgot... There's instructions out there, just google it
Thanks everyone for their input. I re installed Sims U and all games were still there & my icons are back! Yay!! And then to top it off the family I was playing were joined by twin boys so i now have Stella, Artois, Becks, Goiha (Adopted) & now baby boys Carlsberg & Carling!!! Although my boyfriend said they should have been called Jack & Daniels
