lots turn into blue pools It seems that everytime I shut my game off, and open the next day my surrounding lots are what looks like blue pools of water.... It also happens when my family goes on vacation . MY pc has met every requirement for the game, had it checked by a tech purposely for the game. I don;t want to keep moving them to a new town as they lose their friends and can't finish their adventures tasks. which doesn't allow them to build up their visas.. Please help.. I've been playing since day 1 of sims 3 and this just started happening.
Do you have any custom content in .simpack form? Maybe from someplace like Mod The Sims where you used the Monkey Installer program to install them. This is an issue with the later patches and them . You will need to remove them from your game (your mods should be fine but it's the other content).
Lots turn into blue pools HI !! HOW DO i FIND OUT IF THEY ARE SIMPACK FORM? And what do i do to fix them? Please help me I don't really want to give up these files.. Thanks
Blue lots are caused by bad custom content. You will have to identify the offending piece of CC and remove it. Use the 50/50 method. If you want to keep that particular piece of CC, I believe Delphy has a tool that can fix it.
First off you'll need to go into Windows Explorer or My Computer from the Start menu or on your desktop if you have it there. Go to the hard drive you have the game installed on usually it's marked C:Local Disk Click that and then click Program Files, then click Electronic Arts and then click on the Sims 3 folder. Once you get into the main Sims 3 folder look for a folder marked Mods, click that and then click the packages folder. Anything marked PACKAGE is what you're looking for. Mods and hacks are also marked the same but do not cause the blue lot issue with the game. I heard it wasn't necessarily bad custom content just custom content in package form. With Sims3packs type downloads the game reads the content's info from one place in the game's directory and the package content is in a different directory causing the game to not read it from there. That's pretty much how I read the problem to be .
Before I tell you what happened, I'd like to Thank You so much for your help I really appreciate it .. Well I found the mods and of course they are all package files . I'm thinking that i would of course delete my mods, but there are at least 4 I would really, I mean really like to keep. Can I do anything to fix them? I do have the delphy tool installed. Would it make a difference to open the file with it. (delphy) or can I change it from package form. I have the files opened with the monkey installer presently. When I right click on the file i get the option to install to sims3, hacks, misc ,patterns and skins.... OMG Do I have to face the fact that they should be deleted..Please say no that it's not the truth I must face...LOL LOL!! Thanks again, but am crying already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Move those 4 mods to the desktop. Delete all the other mods. Now the game has nothing added to it right? No mods or custom content? Then open up My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\ and delete all the *Cache.package files. There are 4 of these. Start the game and see if the problem goes away. If it does, add those 4 mods back into the game and see if it still works. If so, then you don't need to run them through the tool.
If you're talking about the Delphy's new Framework Installer I couldn't get the darn thing to install.
Install the framework manually. It's best to have as little as possible integrated with the Windows shell.
Blue lots OMG !!!!!! It worked!!! My blue lots are gone!!! But so are my mods, boo hoo... Any way I removed all my mods and re- installed my favorite 4. Only one worked. But one is better than nothing . I do miss all my modern furniture, and my moodlet devise. But my game is awesome again. And so are you guys.. thank you for your help. I didn't realize that my downloads were in c: progam also I just kept getting them out of Documents....Am very excited to play a normal game again.. :glasses:
You're welcome, it's actually a fairly common problem. Check with the makers of the mods and see if they have been updated.
