    low environment in bedroom

I'm lost and not sure what to do here. Every time I walk into my bedroom my environment meter immediately goes to half way down, and as soon as I walk out of the bedroom it goes all the way back up. I always make the bed, I've changed the bed, window covers, carpet, wallpaper, lights, wall hangings, and furniture, yet he still is unhappy with the environment. Is there anything I can do to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

Try placing an expensive piece of artwork in the room...that sometimes helps.

Decorations is the solution, add some to the room! :D

The formula the game uses to calculate environment score is as mad as bucket of fish.

If the room is too large for the number of windows then it can be impossible to bring up the room score.

Bare dirt (grass, sand, whatever) is another room score killer, as are undecorated walls ... check behind stair cases to see if you have missed a bit ;)

To check if the room size is an issue, try boxing off small squares of the room, one or two at a time to see if and when the room score lifts. You can fix the problem by adding another window, and/or more lights.

Update. I tried redecorating by taking everything out of the room, then adding the most expensive, highest environment paintings and decorations, making sure everything "matched", and still he doesn't like it. It is a fairly small room, so next I'm going to try and expand it, add a window or two and perhaps add a thing or two. He will like his room one way or another. Thank goodness he has a great job with plenty of money. Thanks again for the help.

Is it fully covered with roof?

Are there walls up all around it? Seems like a stupid question but I had an EA created house that my sims hated the top floor and they would get too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. Well I finally figured out the problem, two walls were missing! It took me a while to figure it out because the floor plan was a little odd and I play with the walls down most of the time.

It is fully enclosed with a roof, and everything is uniform. Really it's no different then any other room in the house, other than he loves every room but the bedroom . I'll keep changing things until he likes it, or buy a different house :D. Funny thing is there have been a few nights he will sleep outside on the hammock rather than go to the bedroom. I'm about to the point of outgrowing this house anyway, and he is making good money and can afford a bigger place, so maybe that is the answer.

I'd be curious if when you put another family in that house how they like that room. If it's just something with that sim or with the room. It's funny that he would rather sleep in the hammock then in his room!

Well I won't have to move after all. He now loves his room. I expanded the wall to make the room slightly larger, I added another set of windows, gave all the windows curtains that cover the windows, and changed the wall hangings. Not sure which of those fixed the environment, but I'm just happy he's happy. :)

LOL I am glad! I wish you had done those things one at a time, though. Then you could have told which change made the biggest difference. ;)

I'm betting the windows made the difference. I changed everything else a few times before with no difference. There was only one window in the room, with open curtains. I had not thought of windows until you mentioned them in your first post. Got me thinking he probably would like more windows, and have those covered since this is the bedroom. I'm convinced that was the problem since everything else had previously been changed. Thanks so much for the help.

Glad you got it fixed. I love having windows in every room so that has never been a problem for me but it's good to know they like windows too!

there would be a HUGE difference if your sim's room is dark/bright.

there also can be a difference in the room point depending on the time. if you have lots of lighting in that room, then your sim will be a happy sim when in that room at night. etc.

same probably apply for the windows, perhaps.
