Mac - installing pets breaks the game, wont start

    Hi,

We Bought sims2 for mac then glamour life ran great for months with addons, meshes etc....

and so just got uni, nightlife and pets...all went well until we installed pets and now the game wont start, it says sims2 game is too old and needs a newer version....

    :(

any ideas on how to fix?

Currently downloading the mega dec 2007 patch (420meg), but that's 6 hours away, hopefully that will fix it, but the reports on it arnt good..

If not assuming we are going to have to re-install and drag the custom stuff back in? is it that simple? From posts it suggests installing in a particular order...

sims2, uni, nlife, openforbus (on back order) pets, glamour, seasons, family stuff? that's all we can get in NZ....

Update.......we dumped sims2 into trash, dragged sims2 back (with glamour life) from the fwire drive and re-installed uni, then downloaded and installed cep files ver8 which fixed wierd blue colour for house contents...seems to be working so far can see downloads as well (couldnt see new meshes, now can).....

Noticed ppl disappeared, then read play to 5am!.....doing that now....will feed back later....

    regards

    Steven

    MAC ~ pets

We re-installed up to pets and found that pets broke the game giving an error 2 please re-install. Downloaded and applied the Dec mega patch followed by CEP8 (yet again) and it all now runs.

    :)

    MAC expansions order of install

sims2 - glamour life, cep8, university, cep8, night life, cep 8, pets, mega patch cep8....

"normally" galmour life is later? up until we installed pets glamour life's cd was required, now its pets cd.

Hardware ~ iMac 17inch dual core 2Ghz Intel, graphics, X1600 with 128M vram...1.5Gb main ram (though 512M seems enough looking at top as 1Gb is still free). OSX 10.4.11.
