Mac Os X does anyone know if the sims 2 will be coming out for MAC OS X. my pc will NOT play it but my mac is brand new and probably would once it came out. does anyone know??
Aspyr usually is about 6-12 months behind in terms of porting games over to Macintosh. Your best bet would probably be looking into some sort of Macintosh Software that can emulate PC. Something like a virtual PC. I know its out there...just matter of finding one that works with Jaguar.
On the official Sims BBS Maxis Lucky said that they had not yet sent any information to Aspyr (who does the games for Mac.) She didn't say either way if it was in the works or if they weren't going to do it.
Aspyr also needs to get contracts and licenses squared away with EA Legal before they can do any porting over.
There are times when that process can take longer than to actually translate the game from PC to Mac! (Oh, how lawyers love to talk.)
In today's Maxis chat (7/2/04) Neil Young (general manager of Maxis) said that he's a mac user and that they were planning to have the game go onto Mac. He said that they didn't have any release information yet, however. So, stay tuned!
