MAJOR Gameplay Issues!!! I have been playing the Sims since the first hit the shelves! I got the Sims 2 a few months ago, and it worked ok. Then I got University and it went significantly slower ... now with Night Life my game is so choppy it is UNPLAYABLE. When I click to place a lot, or click on anything at all it takes literally 2 - 5 minutes to make the change. Then at the loading menus (Like when it loads the family or to make sims) it takes at least 10 - 15 minutes!!! I have Defragmented my computer, Scanned for spyware and viruses, Updated my drivers ... checked for errors in my drives and even uninstalled stuff! But it does NO GOOD! HELP ME!!!!!!
It seems that with each EP the game gets slower. Just before NL came out I upgraded my RAM. It played real well until I installed NL now it's slow again. The bigger the lot the slower it plays. Have you tried changing all your graphics settings and all to low? Turn reflections off, shadows off, etc? Ruth
I remember with the original Sims that I often got carried away designing mega community lots or vacation resorts and then found they were unplayable. Unless you have a pretty high end computer the game is best played on very small lots in small houses. Also unless you have lots and lots of RAM it is best to play with as few downloads as possible. They game's biggest demand is on the video/graphics side of things. Anyone contemplating a new PC should bear this in mind. Avoid integrated graphics at all costs. Ideally you want a PC with ATI or GeForce powered displays
what kind of machine are u running? it could be your video card or the overall performance of your PC
No Clue! Umm. A Dell. Lol. I dont know! I am pretty sure it is a graphics card. I think it is an Intel Indeo or something of the sort.
Which Dell is important (or rather, what the specs are for your Dell.) If you are already at the minimum options for the game, then it's time to look at upgrading or replacing the computer. If you can list your specs, it would be helpful to us if we are to help you. (Sometimes it's more RAM, sometimes it's a better graphics card, especially if you have an Intel card which are all meant for business not game usage, and sometimes it's a combination of things that need to be upgraded.)
