Memory Wipe? As I was fiddling around with my 8-Sim college household, a thought occurred to me: three Sims want to join a Greek house, so why don't I change the rental property into another Greek house? So I have one Sim obtain the charter...then I noticed that, even though Tidus and Ivy were engaged and had already had their first kisses and woohoos...they had their firsts again. Then I check all of the Sims' memories. All of them---All the way back to when they were toddlers, were gone! The only memories they had were from after they had turned their rental property into a Greek house. Is it a common glitch or am I just misfortunate? I didn't save the game, and I won't do the Greek house conversion again unless I know that's what happens when you do that. (Dunno whether or not this is a techy problem, just another glitchy thing that I wanted to share...my Boba Fett's face seemed to fix itself. )
Paging Dr. Pescado! Paging Dr. Pescado! He has a patch that fixes this. Yep, it is a glitch. Sucky one, too, am I right??:(
Oh yeah it would've sucked if I had saved. I'd like to have the patch, is there a place where I can get it?
Hey Chee-Z You can get Pescado's patch over here: http://www.variousimmers.net/vsimforum/showthread.php?t=771 This is not anything official from Maxis but its one of those that Pescado has done to fix something that Maxis has yet to get around to... Had the same issue regarding this when I first got TS2U and managed to wipe memories from two of my favourite sims (and I only realized AFTER I had saved ).
I did the same thing and was very annoyed when I found out. There is also something wrong with the whole conversion to Greek house as it seemed to me that not all the residents are converted into members at the time the house is converted. I accidentally clicked on a join greek house menu item and watched, irritated, for a couple of minutes as they all rushed around while the 'applicant' rushed around too ... presumably confused because he had to make friends with himself. :(
ROTF!! That happened to me too, Mirelly. And then I just so they'd quit running around like chickens with their heads cut off, I started telling them to go watch clouds, (actually, I was clicking on them and muttering "go sit your a__ down over there somewhere!") and one was promptly killed by sputnik. I don't usually quit without saving, but this time I think it was warranted.
That happened to my very first Sim family, three roommates. I was still figuring out how to play and Buffy went outside to look at the clouds. I hadn't even played her yet and boom! Sputnik. I kept it as a yard oddity, next to her tombstone. She was one angry ghost.
Sim Won't Leave College Dorm Instead of starting another "Help I'm Inept!" thread, I thought I might revive this one. Anyway, I've had two Sims graduate and move back home, now I need to move out a few more. After moving David Merrick's girlfriend and her friend back into the dorm, David decided to throw a graduation party. Well...that went well until the party was over... It was like he was waiting for the taxi that would not come. Back out, reload with no saving, I make him go ET phone home (move back to neighborhood) and again, he was like he was waiting for the taxi that wouldn't come. Is this yet another glitch? I did not save...again...I have all of Pescado's hacks in, btw, and they help tons with my game.
Sounds pretty glitch-y to me ... I had no trouble with the one person I've managed to graduate so far ... I was pretty proud of myself, getting just that one through college. Of course, he was fun. Romance Sims have waaaaaay more fun in college than Knowledge Sims do. Not all that pesky studying to worry about. Just influence someone else to do your assignments ... Maybe you could try moving him to the bin and putting him back onto another lot? I had a dorm that kept crashing my game. Once I moved my sims out and bulldozed it, replacing it with a duplicate, it worked OK. It could be the dorm that's causing the problem. Just a thought.
Hmm could try that. He still has a few more hours left before he has to leave the dorm, so the ol' switcheroo might help. Come to think of it, this is also when I moved two girls from the Greek House into the dorm...hmm...would that have affected it? I'll move him out and try it, then maybe move the others who are about to graduate out as well if it works.
