Wow, now I'm actually interested in the Pets EP! I like some of the features that are described and it does seem like I will enjoy having the pets option in my game. It's good that you can customise the pets quite a bit and the careers for Pets seem to be a funny prospect, but a useful one. Until now, I haven't read anything about Pets - I usually avoid the Sims 2 BBS and I just haven't bothered to be the slightest bit interested in Pets as an EP, but having read the list of features, I'm gonna buy it, definitely. Mirelly - ROFL at the thought of a dat....
Friends for a Lifetime - Your Sims' pets are members of the family and share all of lifes great moments - whether it's kids training puppies, teens playing fetch in the park, adults watching TV with their cats, or elders enjoying a sunny day in park with their long-time companion Now, that sounds very sweet and all, but does that mean that they are going to take up slots in the family just like they did in TS1? Because that's one of my biggest complaints!! I like to keep families under 6 if I can to keep them managable. So, if I add Fido and Fluffy, there's my 8.
LOL Kristal. It worries me too, because I don't want them hanging around for whole 70 day sims lifetime. 15-20 days is more than enough.
I am quite excited about the new expansion pack...can't wait to hear what everyone thinks about it. No, really, I never buy expansion packs until I can get some feedback from my Worldsims buddies. I'm such a coward.
So far it's sounding more interesting than before. Does this mean that your pets will also age and change appearance as they grow? (i.e. get bigger and look less "puppy" than on Unleashed)
I was wondering the same thing about sizes. I wonder if big dogs, like a Lab, will be bigger than, say, a Pug. Also, wonder if, since it's looking like they're playable, if we can do a little "Lady and the Tramp" scenerio. That might be cute. For a day.
I agree, and i would assume that if that was true, the death of the pet would really depress your sim?
Ditch made you think of Dutch, which has dykes to control the water... (although that's usually spelled dikes, with the y substitution being an uncommon alternate).
LOL Kat ... a dyke can also be a ditch as well an embankment, barrier or levee (being the preferred term in the old French bits of your fine country ) Maybe if New Orleans had been New Amsterdam instead, those canny Dutch engineers would have built some better dikes and Texas would be covered with windmills instead of nodding donkeys ... talk about sweeping generalisations Back to the topic ... I am still trying to decide how I will feel about having sim pets wandering around with aspirational wants and fears ... maybe dogs will have a yen chase a cat up a tree or better still chase Marsha Bruenig up one
I'm trying to remember: Didn't the dogs in TS1 used to bite the mailman and the repair-man from time to time? Wonder if our dogs will have wants like that: "bark at Goopy" "Bite The Mailman" "Mate with Fifi" "Get a job as a guard dog". Think it will be like that?
LOL! I'll be attempting to do that with some sims I'm sure. Heck, if we can instigate fights between them, I don't see why not!
So, they had the same idea I did, with the create-a-pet. I'd be excited to see if I could make a really strange pet. That would be cool. My game's getting pretty buggy as it is. This may be the last EP my computer can handle. I've got to get this one but I may have to reinstall. And I hope they take their time and try to iron out any bugs ahead of time. A few are to be expected, but sometimes I think they're in too much of a hurry. I can wait. Maybe by the time it comes out I'll be able to afford a new processor for my computer.
Oh my I am soooo excited! I love the idea that they can have careers. I hope they will also be different sizes, though when you think about it, why can't we have control of how TALL are sims are!?
