multiple nightlife and pets issues...HELP! ok well i have been having a lot of problems with the sims 2 ever since i installed nightlife. before i got nightlife, i had the origional sims 2 and the sims 2 pets. before i installed nightlife, i backed up all of my pets files onto my desktop. anyway, so the installation with nightlife went fine. i didnt get any errors or anything. so then i launched nightlife. when i got to the screen where you choose what neighborhoods you want to play, none of my neighborhoods were there. in fact, no neighborhoods were there at all. the only thing that was there that was a box to create a neighborhood. so i quit the game and went into mydocuments/eagames/thesims2 and all of my neighborhoods were there. so after doing some research online, i found out that i would have to uninstall both expansion packs and then install nightlife and then install pets after. so i did that. when both expansion packs were installed, i restored my neighborhood back into the sims 2 folder. then i went to launch the sims 2 using the pets disc. the game started up properly and all of my neighborhoods and families were there. i thought i had solved the issue, but then i noticed that at the top left corner of the screen where the expansion pack icons are, the nightlife icon was faded (meaning my computer isnt letting me play nightlife) so i quit the game and put in my nightlife disc just to see what would happen. i opened up nightlife and it brought me to the neighborhoods screen. again, no neighborhoods. this got me very confused because the computer was letting me play two expansion packs seperatly, and not at the same time. so can somebody tell me if im doing anything wrong? and if i am doing something wrong can you tell me how to do it correctly? and also, could somebody tell me how to play nightlife and pets at the same time??
I don't have a solution to your problem, but I will let you know that I had a similar kind of issue with Nightlife. When I first installed it, I wasn't smart enough to back up all my files. It deleted the neighborhoods I'd created (though it left me Pleasantview, Strangetown, and Veronaville)...I lost all my progress, and all of the families I'd created. I would wager a guess that your second problem may stem from having installed them out of order. If possible, back up your files, and then uninstall both Nightlife and Pets. Then try reinstalling them in the proper order: Nightlife first, then Pets right after that. I installed mine in the order they came out, and they work just fine. I hope that helps!
