My sims 2 "fun stuff" suddenly won't start

OKay so about everyday I've been playing the sims2 on my new computer, and now all of a sudden (after my mom got on) it wont start. I checked to see if the files were there and they are, maybe something is missing in the file or something but it starts to start up and then it says The sims 2 cannot start because of problems, WHAT PROBLEMS!? ugh. Can someone PLEASE help me, its the weekend and I really don't feel like re-installing my sims AGAIN....

Here is what the error message says:
"The Sims 2 EP3 has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. PLease close the program."

I guess thats what I get with Vista, unlike Xp Vista doesn't tell you what the hell is wrong with it.

Sorry for you problems. It is clearly your mom's fault so you are are entitled to ground her forever, garnish her allowance until the damage has been paid for, and also to invite around all your friends to have a partaaaay.

OK Seriously ... what's has changed? If your mom "got on there" there should be some clue. Ask her what she was doing? If she blushes and looks shifty don't make stoopid assumptions .... she might be planning a surprise party for you. On the other hand she could be planning the crime of the milennium so make sure to have your BS detector fine-tuned.

(eh? hey it's a holdiay weekend and I feel frivvy  )

I asked her earlier because she is obviously the first one to blame because she was the last one on the computer. She defragmented the computer, and deleted her movies from her folders, and tried to add a browser so that all I know that she did.... I have this new vista program that doesnt tell you whats wrong like xp..im so lost.

This is probably to late. However it might help in the future. Before reinstaling the game backup The Sims 2 folder in a safe place and rename it.
When you reinstall. Copy the new The Sim 2 folder and rename it.( Try the old backup. If that doesnt work copy the new one back.)

eg when i backup folders on sims, for me it goes like this. Copy The Sim 2. Save as sims001, copy The Sims 2, save as sims002. and so on.
The file can be found in My Documents/ EA games.
Then copy the one you want back to My Documents/Ea games, and rename it The sims 2

Sorry that I'm saying this in the middle of everything but it's gotta be done. One thread is all that you need. I saw that you had started a similar thread somewhere and, personally, I thought it was a bit unnecessary since you already had a thread about it. If you want to post updates on your problem, then post them here. Someone will see, don't worry. :)
