My sims2 build mode doesnt work =( Oh dear, I finally got my sims2 game and the build mode doesnt work!! sob sob is there anything wrong with the game or my pc? Ive checked the system requirements and my pc seems to pass all of it..whats wrong? any help please :(
well basicly nothing in the build mode works, example, when we select to build a wall, a little stick thingy appears, but no it doesnt appear and I cant build a wall, another example, I select to build windows, I select on a desired design and wanna place it on a wall, no window appears at my cursor to be placed on the wall, cant build a deck etc :(
Go out and buy the game instead of leeching it and using the NO-CD hack... Seems to work pretty well for most people.
you can't exactly prove he's using a pirated version, although pirated versions are known to have countless things go wrong (I should know after I downloaded a few games then went out and actually bought them because the downloads were so horrible). something might have just gone wrong with the install. try re-installing it if you did download it, there's not much I can help with there because there is an unsupported third-party patch modifiying the game
no. i got to agree with Gebbinn on this one. the only case ive seen where this happens is with the no-cd crack thats currently available. if you absolutely need to run it without the cd, use a program like nero to make a 1:1 copy in image form of either cd 1 or the dvd and simply run the image in a program like daemon tools. i use this alot of times for my games when i know they'll get scratched really badly. if you downloaded it, then quit being a cheapass and buy it. its definitely worth the $50.
well no I didnt download it because Im using a 56k modem line and if I did download it, it will take ages? thats excluding the fact that if I dont get disconnected or I would need to re-download. anyways I bought the original copy and in my country is costs me RM170, maybe I have to go get it changed or buy another :(
i have the exact same problem except that i cant even get the shovel thing..it wont let me drag ANYTHING. I can only place objects
OK, first let me apologize for the leeching comment. I have come to realize that there are people out there who actually do buy a game, and then go get NO-CD hacks because they dont want to have to use the CD constantly and risk ruining it. So, I apologize for making an incorrect assumption. Now, with that being said, the problem with the inability to build comes from using this No-CD hack. That is the ONLY instance that I have heard of this specific problem arising. If you have deleted your original .EXE and replaced it with a NO-CD hack, then you will have to uninstall and reinstall, or just ask around and see if someone can send you just the .EXE Now one final comment.. if you are Leeching (see below for definition) Then you deserve what you get. Maxis works very hard to make these games, and even though you may think (or hear) that $50.00 is way too much to pay for a game, realize that the cost involved in making these games is astronomical. Not only do they have to pay for the finished program, they have to recoup losses for all the failed efforts as well.. and as a part time programmer myself, let me tell you that for every successful effort, there are anywhere up to 10 failed ones that preceed it. So please, GO PAY FOR THE GAME. Now, for a definition....Leeching - The act of downloading software, movies and/or music from the internet without paying for it, or intending to pay for it in the future, in any way shape or form.
