My stubborn Sim... Hello. I have this one sim with a romance aspiration. It seems as though after he reached his want of 20 'lovers' a glitch has begun. Whenever he tries to talk to another sim they sort of jump backwards and the action is cancelled. When he eats meals with other sims he suddenly stands up. Also he can't relax with anyone on a bed or go into the hot tub. Does anyone know what's wrong??
How many times has your sim drunk the elixir of life? If it's more than you can remember he may be experiencing the anti-social elixir side effect ... for which I think the only cure is to let him grow old and die. Feel free to correct me, someone else ...

This sounds like a symptom of the "Jump Bug" to me. Run a seach on this forum and the Official BBS and see if your symptoms are like the ones other people suffering with it have described. To fix it you must download the patch from the official site.
I actually tried downloading the patch from the official website but for some reason after i installed it, it would say 'Cannot locate the CD-ROM. Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application' So i had to make copies of my stuff and reinstall it...any suggestions on the problem? =P
You cannot patch a game with the original CD in the 'puter. If you have been playing with a gizmo that lets you leave the CD out then have to unistall that gizmo first before the game reverts to how it is supposed to be run. The patch should then install.
Maxis put a security "system" in the game that keeps it from working properly without the disk. If you are trying to play it without the original disk, then yep, it won't work right. It also won't let you have their free patch if you didn't pay for the game.
