    Nanny refuse to leave!

    Hiya,

There was a help with birthday appearing & I bought a birthday cake to celebrate my baby's birthday. But that was before the nanny left & now the nanny is stuck in my house! She refuse to leave, I don't want to delete her as she have been a very good nanny. What should I do?

Delete her ... it won't kill here. Sounds like a bug. The first adult or teen home from work shoudl always "Dismiss" the nanny to avoid this sort of nonsense. Dismissing just sends them home.

I had a nanny once that I dismissed, she waved like she was leaving, then went to the kitchen. As soon as she walked out of the room another nanny showed up for no reason. Maybe it was her sister just wanting to see where she worked:rolleyes: I saved and quit figuring I could just delete them next time I played but when I loaded up again they were both gone. Very Odd:glasses::confusion:

    The Nanny who got stuck

When one of my families had twins and the parents were so desperate that they would start crying all the time (even though I had Mom quit work and tried to cheer her up with TV and visiting friends) I had Mom call the nanny just to get help taking care of two toddlers. (I didn't know yet that the nanny was so much trouble.) The nanny was really a useless nuisance and wound up stuck in front of one of the cribs. Fortunately she had already set the toddler on the floor. The nanny just stood in front of the crib shrugging her shoulders, making faces, and wringing her hands. I had to buy another crib. No one could talk to her, even to fire her or dismiss her. She stayed there for a couple of days, making faces and talking to herself. I thought she'd be there forever and started saving money so that I could move the family out and buy another house (I didn't know about using cheats to get rid of people.) Meanwhile, the toddlers became kids. Then one day when everyone was at work and school, the nanny passed out on the floor. She woke up after awhile, walked into the kitchen (trailing a BIG cloud of green stink), fixed herself a meal, then left, just before everyone got home. I didn't have to move the family after all, but I never called the nanny back again.:D

Wish I'd taken a picture. And I had to mop the floor where she'd been standing, (and sleeping,) poor thing.

Nannies... let me see, how do I put this... are the god-danged devil

    My nannoes have so far:
    1. Left house utterly filthy
    2. Eaten all of my food
    3. Started numerous kitchen fires
    4. Let a toddler starve to death
    5. Let a toddler sit for hours in its own waste
It's like paying for an animate wrecking ball to come in and destroy your family.

First you can use JMP's security system that can be used to lock service sims, like nannies out of certain rooms. Second. I always turn the fridge around so that the nanny can't use it ... no fridge, no fires. I never hire a nanny for longer than 6 or 7 hours. Baby won't starve in that time if fed by a parent just before they leave for work. If nanny arrives before 10am she will do most of the maid's work ... saves maid wages and keeps nanny occupied. If you have a baby (as opposed to a toddler) turn crib around to stop nanny picking up baby ... leave it that way until baby starts crying (you will need the moveobjects cheat to be "on" to achieve this!). Baby will only cry because it needs a diaper change or social ... it won't be hungry within 6-7 hours of last feed.

    As for
I'd love to know how you managed that, Rowan.

Hey, I had a Nanny do that before! (Let a child sit for hours in it's dirty diaper and starve, though not to death!) She locked the baby in his highchair, then forgot to feed him and went off to clean the house, soak in the hot tub, and watch TV, all the time me yelling at her, "Take care of the Baby!!!"

    Cause of death: Nanny

The baby got hungry and the Nanny left it in its crib, started a fire, went to eat, started another fire (thank goodness for the fire alarm) and ignored the hungry baby's cries for help. By the time the parent got home the baby was too far gone to save--in the time it took me to deliver a bottle it died.

    Nannies suck.

Crumbs and crikey and kull wahad and all that!  :( :surprised:

I didn't think it was possible to kill a baby or toddler. You've started something now and no mistake .... :p :D

    Yer right, I was wrong.

You are right, I was wrong. I went back and reviewed this family. I haven't played this family in ages, mostly because tthe Nanny ruined it.

After spending a whole day in what can only be described as gross child neglect (leaving a toddler, Tina, to starve in its own waste and an older child, Jerod, to nearly burn up twice) the Nanny got both kids taken away by the social worker. The mother, Iaisha, overworked and hungry, comes home to find her children being led away. She sinks into a depression so deep she cannot eat, wash, or sleep without breaking down. She dies that night. The husband survives but still mourns the loss of everyone. I had a lot of fun playing this family up to that point and it soured me forever to the Nanny.

So, I am sorry, my memory was faulted by an overarching hatred of the Nanny. The toddler did not die (if it could have it would) and I learned a valuable lesson about childrearing (always arrange to have an adult or teen at home). So replace the line about killing the baby with "Caused the death of a parent".

Oh man! That is so sad. I think it is actually worse than the toddler dying ... :p

Geeze!!!! My Nannies have been neglectful, but never that bad!!! Which one was it? Calista or Karen? Karen is my "stupid" nanny, the one who left the toddler in his highchair all afternoon while she soaked in the hot tub.
