Necessities? What would u advise are the necessities for a new simmer? (like outside programs and stuff) Also in what order would u get the expansion packs in? I have deluxe edition so what should i get next? Thanks Alot!!!!
hmm...well...it all depends. If you on what you like. Just look arond for some cool sim sites with lots of downloads. Order of expantions: The Sims LL or Deluxe House Party Hot Date Vaction Unleashed List of cool sites: www.simlovelies.net www.worldsims.org* www.thesimsresource.com (Pay) http://coolsimstuff.simgames.net...not very good but what ever <<Mod Edit>>Changed URL from WorldSims.com to WorldSims.org
You should get yourself the following to have ready at hand; Filecop Simseraser Winzip Then there are programs for making your own objects, walls, floors and skins. Hmm.. I know I forgot something... Since you have Deluxe you don't need Sims or Living Large (LL) The rest of the packs are: House Party Hot Date Vacation (called Holidays in Europe) Unleashed Whish you want yourself it's up to you, but they should be installed in that order. Don't forget to run defrag before you install a bigger program. And make sure you have enough RAM (memory, not your harddrive) The recommendation is a minimum of 128 mb. To have more is only good. Good Luck
if you have any of the newer expansions you should get the categorizer from Paladins www.simwardrobe.com and also grab the enablers for buy/build mode while downtown, old towne or vacation so you can fix a stuck sim. You can also use the categorizer to make items available to purchase for downtown, old towne and vacation. If you have many downloads than invest $8 in the object manager from www.simenhancer.com this program can replace the FAR editor, categorizer and object ID - if you have a lot of skins then grab the free CMX validator to check your skins for misnaming. Happy Simming
Does those two really work for unleashed and deluxe? There's a thread about it around here somewhere I think.. But otherwise.. hehe I knew there was something. Those will be great for any other pack.
Blueprint stuff are great...plus the TMOG http://www.lushcreations.com http://blueprint.thesimsresource.com
Simseraser is a program you find under support. It really erase the sims, as far as I'm told with all little bits and ends. Normally when you uninstall you can always find trace of it and registry parts left. But simeraser takes it away so you can reinstall really from scratch. I've downloaded it simply if I will need it for some reason.
Well, it looks like everyone else has covered the basics, so I'll just say welcome to the happy world of simming!! I love the transmogrifier, and I use mainly that to make objects, and I used some of the programs available for download from the official Sims site at Maxis, if you're new to making stuff it can be fun to use the painting one to make pictures your sims can decorate with, that and the walls and floors are the easiest for me to make.
I think Sim Show and another one let you preview your skins... I got one of them but I don't remember which one, and I'm still learning how to use it... I used to just load the skin into the game and see if it worked like I wanted it to!!
Just out of Curiousity why would you get the expanison paks in the order of The Sims or Deluxe House Party Hote date Vacation and the Unleashed? I have the Sims Deluxe and Unleashed and I haven't met up with any major problems.... I find my computer lags a bit tho. Does anyone have a cure for that?
