    New High Resolution Screenshots Added

We've added 20 high resolution screenshots into our gallery. Some of the screenshots are duplicates of older, lower resolution ones. We felt it best to add them in as some people would like to see the more detailed screenshots at 1600x1200 and 1920x1440. Among the shots are several brand new shots.

Gotta admit the shots look impressive, but the bump mapping of the some of the building textures could be toned downed down a little ... especially when compared to the apparent total lack of same on some of the props. I sometimes wonder what is going on in game developers' minds ... those 3 rung fire escape ladders on the tenement buildings, for example. It's kinda like: "we did all this luvverly detail here and here but couldn't be arsed to finish that bit or that bit cos they were diagonal and the anti-aliasing made them look all clunky at acute angles of perspective."

Nice though ... counting my penny jar already ... ... erm ... did someone say November 07?

    *counts pennies faster*

I must admit, the latest screenshots look impressive, but to have the word 'Simcity' in the game title invites you to taste the magic 'of old' and I don't think that SCS will retain the features and the essence of Simcity. From how I see it, SCS should have a new title all of its own, and as such, would be a great stand-alone game by the looks of things - cultures, societies etc.

It seems strange to have to get used to seeing buildings/ roads etc from the ground looking up at the sky. Again, the graphics are interesting but the gameplay is what I am more concerned about.
