New position at work! I've been waiting to post this, but I want to share this with all of you. On Monday one of my supervisors pulled me into one of the meeting rooms. Before I was a customer service rep for a company where we process Long Term Care (LTC) applications. I worked solely on Metlife LTC, and basically took calls all day from agents who were checking on the status of the apps and from clients who had questions on their policies. Like I said, the supervisor of my supervisor pulled me into a meeting...and of course my first reaction was, "Oh crap...what could I have done wrong!" Hehe, even though I have 100% quality and am probably the one with the most product knowledge on our team, can't help but feel like something might be wrong when they pull you into an individual meeting without warning! Lol, anyway...I've been very vocal about wanting to get onto the training team in the future and actually being a trainer, eventually I'd like to be the training manager. Well our team-lead is leaving the company for another job elsewhere and they aren't going to be replacing him, they are just shifting someone from another team over to ours. They have asked me to take over some of his duties, such as helping to develop our online resource on our intranet for our CSRs (cust. service reps). I'm also in charge of filing all the return mail/updating addresses, and I'm an administrative assistant to the training team, which is the bulk of the job. This means no more set hours, no more phone work, and I get to help develop the training programs! I'm very excited. Colleen (sup) told me that they came to me because they knew I was so interested in the training team aspect and because of my performance. She said my name continued coming up with several different people in different meetings for this position. (Isn't that awesome!) I didn't even have to interview! They offered it to me directly out of the 50 or so CSRs we have in our call center! The only downside is that there is no increase in my wage at this time, but we do get raises in April based on our reveiws that we already had, and on a scale of 1-5, with the average CSR's getting 2.5 total, I was a 3.7, and plus all this extra responsibilites means I should be getting a raise anyway. And they are backdating the raise to January, which means that should be a decent check...this is assuming I get a raise, not everyone will, but with my performance and 100% quality I should be. *fingers crossed* I'm excited about this mainly because it's a foot in the door to the training team. I was talking with one of the trainers today, and she said that her and the other trainer are starting to get ready to move on to other positions within the company, and this provides a way to train someone new without overwhelming them...OMG! I'm basically being trained in to become a trainer! I'm SOOOOO excited! I just had to share that with all of you, my little WorldSims family!
Congratulations! I too started working with Insurance (including Long Term Care) and eventually moved on to the Training Team in my company...It can be quite challenging, but it's always something new and interesting. I think you will love it!
'WOOOT!'? Me? No! I'm very very quiet. I think you must be mistaken. So proud of you Shana. Well done. ... *Sits twiddling thumbs.* Oh, I can't stand it! You rock girl! *Gives shana a big hug.* WOOOT!
