    Nightlife need uni?

I'm going to get Nightlife, but I haven't got the Uni EP. Will I need it to play Nightlife? If i don't, will there be some aspects I will miss out on in Nightlife?

As far as I know if you skip the Uni. expansion and go directly to the Nightlife expansion you'll only miss out on some new items found in Uni. and, of course, the option of going to university.

I could be wrong though. I haven't actually tried skipping an expansion before.

    suitemichelle Gramma's here!

You can skip expansions.... had to delete Uni because of malfunction but got NL and it's playing fine without it. It will be interesting to see if I can load it "out of sequence"

It is highly recommended to install the EPs in the order they were released. I've heard a lot of people were having problems because they tried to install University after Nightlife.

No EP is required to play another EP. As long as you have the basegame, it will play.

However, there are some things that are much more fun if you have TS2U intalled as well as NL. But that's a very individual thing and most often just related to building things.

Just in case in you might be thinking it ... the special features of University will not be added to your game when you buy Nightlife. (In other words the newest expansion pack isn't cumulative.)

    simsyth *SIMS2 cool*

It pays to have them in order.
Even though i have no Eps i should know here are the resons:

1.)my friend done it out of order and it costed him his saves and had to reinstall TS2
2.)it WILL give you certern glitches i know some of you with it out of order will say no it doesent BUT i read it on thesims.com and it say that it WILL at some stage.

oh and no if you install NL you wont have anything from Uni.

Uni offers a lot of cool features, such as:

6 want slots instead of four, with two wants saveable, if you graduate from college
The ability to move sims into combined households, thus allowing you to create roommates with different last names
The resurrecto-tron and the cow plant, if you like freaky stuff :)
    The camera
The Young Adult stage of life, which when combined with NL is truly the "best years" of the sim's life, IMHO. They're pretty, they can party, no babies will be made, and thus they have very few responsibilities. And with NL they can actually leave campus, which makes it a lot more fun than with just uni.
A bunch of cool new NPCs. Of course, NL has 'em too, but the more the merrier I always say.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some crucial things.

Anyway, if you can only get one I'd say NL is cooler, but Uni offers more basic, helpful functionality. I'm not sure if you can do the household thing if you only have NL. I think most of us installed uni before NL, so I can't say.

You don't NEED to upgrade your computer, but the game uses a lot of space. A high-functioning computer will make your life much easier.
