No display on TV or computer...

    Hi there,

For some reason I cant explain, there is no display on my Sims TV or computer, you can hear the sound but there is no video

Anyone have a clue to what this problem can be related to and how I can solve it?

    Thanks,

It may be exceeding the resolution on your computer

If the game was set to windowed mode, what happens?

I am sorry, but I have failed! :(

I have wasted half and hour searching Google. I am sure I have seen something about a video codec (a .dll) required for the TV display, but I can't find it. Maybe someone else can ....

Damn, if I can find out which dll is required maybe I can just copy it from my wives computer which also has The Sims 2 installed.

I will try the windowed mode tonight and just see wot happens.

Thanks in the meanwhile for you help, it is much appreciated :)

Most modern day graphics simply have the TV DVI/S-Video Drivers included in the bundling of graphic driver builds for computers.

Generally for it to be active, a cable must be connected to both the graphics card and the TV, and the TV at least needs to be in a stand-by state.

LOL Josh ... the problem is no image on the in-game TV (the virtual one that simmies watch) :rotfl:

This happens to me all the time, especially if the TV or computer is on when I save and exit the lot. Try turning it off, and then on again, should fix your problem.

If that doesn't work, delete the item and buy a new one.
