novice question okay, this might be a very novice question, but i have no clue as to what to do. everyone on here is talking about patches and downloads and all of these cool things you can get for the game. i have no idea how to do this. i have been playing the sims for years, and i have never done this. can someone give me a little advice on how to start doing this and/or whether or not i should?
Hi Tawsha! Two answers for ya. 1./ The "patch" is an official EA gizmo that folks can download to repair certain bugs that were present when the game was first made. Everyhting you need to know about the patch can be found at http://thesims2.ea.com/help/ 2./ "Downloads" can be anything from a new hairstyle for your sim to a modified telescope that makes sure a sim using it gets abducted by aliens. Maxis started out with the idea that the game's players should have the freedom to make their own content for the game from the beginning. Downloads may be obtained from any number of websites. If you have registered your game you can do a lot starting from personal sim page at the official website. The address is http://thesims2.ea.com/mysimpage/mysimpage.php Recently forum users have been posting links to their own favorite download sites in this thread (Most sites have helpful advice on how to download their stuff. One bit of advice from me is not to join a site that asks you to pay to download stuff ... many sites do require that you register with them (email address needed) but this is mostly harmless though you should make your own judgement or seek adult advice if you are under 14). Once you have downloaded something you want it in the game and this thread has some helpful advice on how to do that. If you need more help just ask!
