OFB and Seasons question I have OFB and now the Seasons EPs and I have a question. My question was is it possible to have the gardner do ALL the work on the gardens, etc. or will he only do some of the work. Also, since I have two EPs installed, do I have to use those discs to play the game or can I use the regular Sims 2 disc to play it. I hate having 3 cd cases of the Sims on my desk.
I'm pretty sure that you only need the latest EP disc to start up the game. That should be Seasons for you. Once you are in the game, everything from the regular game and the other EPs should be available. And I say "pretty sure" because I know for sure it's the case if the EPs are installed in order of release by EA. I'm a little fuzzy about what happens when you install them out of order. 'fraid I can't answer the question about the gardener NPC.
No worries, Lynet. I'll try to answer that one for ya. The gardener will do all the gardening in all the EPs up to Seasons - and I assume that it will do the same in Seasons (don't have that EP so I'm not sure ). However, if the gardener works over time (which might very well happen if you have a big garden with lots of stuff that needs gardening) it will leave the plants that it hasn't tended to 'til the next day. But the garderner might never get around to doing the rest of your garden because it wants to tend to all the things that it's already tended to the following days so you'll have to do them yourself in the end anyway (which has happened to me a few times - but I had put hedges all around the house and it took a lot of work to do all of them apparently ).
I ran Seasons EP and it removed my garage and car from my house that I had put in when I just had OFB. Now I can't access anything like garages anymore :(
Whoa! That shouldn't have happened. I have bought and installed each EP in the order of its release by EA, and now use the Seasons disc AND the Seasons desktop icon to start the game. All my garages and all the other items that came with each EP are still available. Rats, I'm at work and have to log off. But you might want to give more details of how you installed the EPs, and anything else that might be of help for understanding what happened.
I installed Sims2, then Open for Business then Seasons. Thing is though, Season froze my computer up durring the install (don't know why my computer never freezes) so I'm guessing that had something to do with it. It froze up after the sims2 is already updated thing. I'm going to uninstall Season and try again. EDIT: Just reinstalled Seasons again and every is working ok. I think it may be because I downloaded the garage and car from EA's website while I was using OFB. But still, it seems like it would of worked in Seasons to.
