Oh Happy Day! - Conflict with Emulation Software Detected. Hi. I'm new and temporary to this forum, and unfortunately I have some problems. I have, apparently, a Conflict with Emulation Software [that was] Detected. I've googled this several times and have heard the same things: SecuROM sucks, Nero and other CD burning software, the whole shebang. However, I am not computer savvy and have no idea why this is occurring to my Sims 2 game right now. (This has happened before, but at the time I thought it was because of the downloads of sims and objects that I tried to fix, and I promptly uninstalled/reinstalled it. This was about February and I had no problems with it until today.) I couldn't tell you what my computer data was, but I do know that I have everything required of the computer for it to run properly. I have the Sims 2 Deluxe and Apartment Life installed, and the only CD burner software that I have is the one on Windows Media Player (and I don't even know if that applies.). I have never downloaded or used Alcohol, Nero, etc. So I have no idea what's going on. Please help me out! Thanks. EDIT: By the way, I have Windows XP. I tried to use the download that was put up, but it doesn't work, as it has been removed. If anybody could help me as to why the error is suddenly popping up, that'd be great!
All your software is legit yes? It's hard to say why it's doing it I've even heard that Securom doesn't like some brands of cd and dvd players.
It is all legit: I got the Sims 2 Deluxe at Target a year ago and I got Apartment Life in Hong Kong at a super-expensive EA playground. I actually did find traces of Nero (and promptly got rid of it), and was able to play it again, but the message has reappeared again. Can someone find me a list of emulation software that SecuROM doesn't like? BTW, I have eMachines and an MSI DVD Player.
I don't have any records of ever downloading that. If my dad did and uninstalled it when tinkering with the computer, will I have to use a cleanup like I did with Nero or am I clear? Right now I'm just sorting through with my Windows Media Player: I don't know if it applies, but it has a CD/picture/media burner and it might be what's messing my comp up. I have no idea, though.
