Original Sims 2 housing I was wondering what happened to the original housing from Sims 2. I never created custom housing or downloaded anything. I don't play that much, and when I reformatted, I didn't bother to back up my sims because I only had 1 and I didnt care if I started over. I got the University and Nightlife expansions when I reinstalled, and I find that there are only 4 houses in the lot bin now? There used to be TONS, and I really liked one of them. Is this because the new houses all have driveways? Is there a way to use the old houses?
more houses are appearing, but in the lot bin, there is ony the tiny house, small house, and 2 others to choose from. Non of the original houses appear. Like the 2 story ones... none of them are in the Lot Bin to place. here's a screen shot of what I mean http://saved_junk.wolf-moon.net/sims2-housing.jpg
If you used the houses pre-Nightlife, they don't duplicate, which means that unless you put them back in the bin, you won't be able to use them again. Before Nightlife, once you placed them in a neighborhood, it wouldn't be available for placement anywhere else.
This is a clean install. I didnt' save any of my characters or neighborhoods. This is an install after a complete PC reformat. After reformatting, I installed Sims2, then I installed University, then Nightlife, then went out and got the Nightlife patch and applied it. My friend who did save his Sims2 folder before he did a reformat, does see all the old houses available to place. Just seems strange. I actually uninstalled and reinstalled the game a couple times, and every time, I get the same 4 houses. Just seems strange. Guess I'll have to see if EA can help. They are just notoriously slow in my opinion.
